Record a gift

Log a cheque, EFT, cash, stock, or other offline gift.

Open in dashboard

Use Record gift on Transactions (or from a supporter) when the money did not come through a Givevery form — cheque, EFT, cash, stock, or another processor.

The gift appears on the supporter record. You can optionally email a tax receipt.

How to record

  1. Open Transactions (or a supporter) and click Record gift.
  2. Enter amount and currency (CAD or USD).
  3. Set gift date and method (cheque, EFT, cash, stock, other).
  4. Identify the donor (search an existing supporter or enter name and email).
  5. Add notes or campaign context if you use them.
  6. Choose whether to issue a tax receipt, then save.

A usable email is required if you want Givevery to send the receipt.

What happens next

  • The gift shows in Transactions with a Givevery manual id (not a Stripe charge).
  • It counts on the supporter’s lifetime giving.
  • If you issued a receipt, the PDF email uses your receipt settings.

Online card gifts are not recorded here — they appear automatically after Stripe confirms the payment.
